Duramesh / Duramesh Lyo
Precedentemente chiamate AudiomeshNeuro e Lyomesh Neuro, rispettivamente, Duramesh e Duramesh Lyo sono delle membrane derivate da pericardio equino per la sostituzione e rinforzo della dura madre.
Duramesh è conservata in liquido, mentre Duramesh Lyo è liofilizzata.
Membrana conservata in liquido
La conservazione in liquido conferisce alla membrana una maggiore maneggevolezza grazie al suo stato pre-idratato. Il liquido di conservazione va tuttavia risciacquato prima dell'uso, seguendo le istruzioni presenti nell'IFU.
Membrana liofilizzata
La membrana liofilizzata è invece pronta all'uso in quando non deve essere risciacquata e può essere idratata direttamente in loco.
Descrizione
Duramesh - Duramesh Lyo è un sostituto durale biologico riassorbibile. La membrana è composta da pericardio equino acellularizzato ed è lavorata per garantire affidabilità e mantenere un eccellente maneggevolezza.
La membrana si riassorbe totalmente in circa 3 mesi.

Indicazioni
Duramesh/Duramesh Lyo è indicato per sostituzione o rinforzo durale in operazioni di chirurgia neuro-spinale. Grazie alla lavorazione sviluppata e migliorata in anni di esperienza, la membrana risulta maneggevole e si adatta a difetti e strutture anatomiche irregolari.
Nonostante lo spessore ridotto e l'elevata trasparenza, caratteristica di importanza fondamentale in varie tecniche chirurgiche, Duramesh e Duramesh Lyo mantengono un'alta resistenza al punto di sutura e alla pressione. Per questo motivo sono indicate in operazioni sulla fossa cranica o dove si necessita un dispositivo che assicuri una forte resistenza meccanica per contrastare pressione di liquor.
Duramesh Lyo è stato usato con successo nel trattamento chirurgico della malformazione di Arnold-Chiari e fa parte di un apposito protocollo chirurgico sviluppato all'Istituto Neurologico Carlo Besta*
